Now that the Dems are going to be in charge, it’s ok for them to say anything tacky they want? Being a southerner, I take offense at comments that maligns the warm hearted, friendly, people who live there.
NY congressman says no offense intended with Mississippi remark
Rangel, D-N.Y., was quoted in a Thursday article in The New York Times, saying: “Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?”
Many parts of Mississippi are beautiful, the majority of the people are terrific, so I wonder where Rangel gets off insulting the whole bloomin’ state? Is it a New York thing? I’ve been to New York City. Rude, hostile, tacky…and those are just the taxi drivers. And it smelled bad too! Would I insult the entire state? No, of course not! Upstate is really nice.
Isn’t this the same guy who wants to raise YOUR taxes, and re-institute the draft? Hmmmm…
