The Democrats will not be able to savor their victory for long. Americans are waiting to hear if they have any good ideas for how to get out of Iraq without creating even wider chaos and terrorism.
Does anyone really believe the Democrats have any ideas, other than “cut and run” to deal with what’s going on in Iraq?
Under Republican control, Congress has exercised virtually no oversight of the administration’s misconduct of the war, and the new Democratic leadership is eager to hold extensive hearings. The public deserves a full accounting (backed by subpoenas, if necessary) of how prewar intelligence was cooked, why American troops were sent to war without adequate armor, and where billions of dollars in reconstruction aid disappeared to.
Can we, for once, blame the Iraqis for some of the failures? At this point, I could care less if Iraq was turned into a big field of glass, but I do not believe that we should not pull out until the Iraqis are prepared to take control of their own country. If they want any form of Democracy, there really better get their heads out of their collective asses and start working towards it, which includes dealing with the traitors among them. We are there, let’d FIX IT! Instead, the Dems want to waste even MORE of your money for hearings, subpoenas, and anything else they can do to undermine the Bush administration and the U.S.A.
Do we, as free Americans, really want al Qaeda to gloat over our defeat? I don’t know about you, but I have NO intention of bowing to Mecca five times a day, OR being covered by a tent!
