Ann Coulter Fires Back at Critics Over John Edwards ‘Faggot’ Barb

“‘Faggot isn’t offensive to gays; it has nothing to do with gays,” Coulter said on “Hannity and Colmes” Monday night. “It’s a schoolyard taunt meaning ‘wuss,’ and unless you’re telling me that John Edwards is gay, it was not applied to a gay person.”

Well, I would agree that he’s a bit of a wuss. He’s sure not the type I’d like to see in charge of the country.

State pours millions into computer project

By June the state will have poured more than $35 million into a computer server project that is delayed and has no timetable for completion, officials say. They expect to spend another $36 million over the next two years – for a projected $71 million by mid-2009.

Just who is in charge of these types of projects, using taxpayer funds? They should be fired! “The state” is made up of people. It’s not a separate, all powerful entity, it’s people. And WE are the people of “the state”. Isn’t it about time the state started paying attention to the major blunders of those who have been put in charge?

Terror suspect ‘heading to paradise’

A MEMBER of an alleged cell of nine Sydney terrorists told his mother he was going to paradise and would see her there, a court heard yesterday.

Buh-bye!

Mistake by police sent her to jail

She didn’t do it. The woman McKinney police were looking for spells her first name differently, has a different middle name, lives in a different town and has a different license plate number. What saved Ms. Hernandez, however, was the lack of a tattoo.

I have a lot of respect for the cops, but sometimes, they can make some really stupid, and preventable, mistakes. I see a lawsuit in their future.

U.S. Productivity Rose 1.6%, Labor Costs Jumped

Productivity, a measure of how much an employee produces for each hour of work, rose at an annual rate of 1.6 percent, less than the 3 percent pace reported last month, the Labor Department said today in Washington. A measure of labor costs jumped at a 6.6 percent rate, reflecting a one-time increase in bonuses.

Perhaps bonuses should take a back seat? Naw….I always liked those bonuses. :) I’m curious as to why they include them in with the cost of labor.

Global warming labeled a ’scam’

With a packet of claims that are almost certain to defy conventional wisdom, a television documentary to be aired in Britain this week condemns man-made global warming as a myth that has become “the biggest scam of modern times.” The program titled “The Great Global Warming Scandal” and set for screening by TV Channel 4 on Thursday dismisses claims that high levels of greenhouse gases generated by human activity causes climate change. Instead, the program suggests that the sun itself is the real culprit.

Gosh! The sun warms the earth. Go figure! This should get real interesting. :) Ya think Algore is going to pop a vein while screeching his hysteria?

For Sex Offenders, a Dispute Over Therapy’s Benefits

Similar to aspects of Alcoholics Anonymous, relapse prevention has sex offenders own up to wrongdoing and resign themselves to a lifelong day-to-day struggle with temptation. But one of the few authoritative studies of the method, conducted in California from 1985 to 2001, found that those who entered relapse prevention treatment were slightly more likely to offend again than those who got no therapy at all.

I doubt if even castration would help some of those animals, but it’s a start.

Army medic is found guilty of desertion

A U.S. Army medic who refused to return to Iraq because of his opposition to the war was convicted of desertion at his court martial Tuesday, and could face as long as seven years in prison.

Didn’t we use to shoot deserters? This is an all volunteer military. When they take that oath, it means they will follow orders. Sometimes those orders include going into harm’s way. As much as I hate war, as do most people, I think the slanted media and the anti American crowd have done a great deal of damage to our military.  Truthfully, I’d rather not have the weak minded serving, but that’s another issue.

  1. Castration doesn’t work because it has nothing to do with sexual activity. It is a mental thing about power and control. They just other things to accomplish what they bodily can’t anymore.

Thereapy probably doesn’t work because in a way it “validates” their feelings and lets the offender know it is “okay” if he has these feelings as long as he is sorry afterwards. Flat out telling them it is wrong and sticking them in jail for 25 years is a much better solution.

  2. Oh, no, I didn’t mean to imply it did. I was thinking of such with a dull butter knife….slowly. :)
