Democrats seek way to defund detention center

Two key Democrats in Congress disclosed Wednesday that they are examining Defense Department funding mechanisms for a way to choke off funding for the Guantánamo Bay detention facilities.

”We’re looking at a schedule — a reasonable schedule — to close it down in stages,” Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said on National Public Radio’s Morning Edition. “We can limit the funds for it, and that would shut it down.”

I can think of a couple of “things” I’d like to “choke” right now. Hey, how ’bout if we let those nice folks who want to kill Americans move in with Rep. Murtha. Problem solved. I’m sure he, personally, can afford to feed, clothe and house a couple a hundred of bad guys.

Murtha, who retired from the Marine Corps Reserve as a colonel after 37 years’ service, has been one of the most outspoken critics of the Bush administration’s prosecution of the war on terrorism.

Are there any Marines who are proud of MR. Murtha? He’s an embarrassment to me, as an American.

He has taken aim at the Guantánamo prison camps for terrorism suspects through his powerful perch as chairman of the House Appropriations subcommittee on defense.

A vulture on his perch! Feeding on the corpse of the U.S. Military. That scum bucket  makes me flat out ill!
