An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings

Back In Dallas

Filed under: Stuff, Travel — olbroad @ 1:17

The brat and I had a productive visit in Waco, spending Mr. Ol’ Broad’s money on rugrat #1.  We started heading back around 5:00, just in time to make back to Dallas for the tail end of rush hour.  That was loads of fun!  NOT!  It could have been much worse.

We spent a lot of time driving around waiting to pick up short person.  I’ve now learned more about Waco than I wanted to.  We found the airport, we found the Park where I was flashed when I was 16.  I never could find the last house where we lived before my dad was transferred to Virginia.  I wanted to show it to the brat.  We didn’t, however, find the street where we lived when I was about 3.  It was a rental house if I’m not mistaken, just waiting for the other house to finish being built.   I can tell ya, ghetto doesn’t even begin to describe that area now.  Kind of sad, because it was a fairly nice area….way back in the 50’s.  🙂

I may end up staying here a few extra days.  More family drama, not to mention the possibility of once serious nasty storm predicted.  We shall see.  I don’t know how much more drama I want to deal with right now, so I just might head back to Tennessee.   Naw, I miss my honey!

  2. I’m considering hanging around here a couple more days, then going back to Tennessee until it blows over. 🙂 Yes, I’m a coward, and I hate the cold! LOL
