8-12 inches of snow possible by Monday

Because winds overnight Saturday into Sunday could reach 40 mph, the Weather Service said the storm watch could be upgraded to a blizzard watch.

I’m not leaving here for a few days. No way!

School struggles to process principal’s arrest

Before classes started this morning at Van Buren Middle School, an announcement came over the intercom. It was to explain why Principal Anthony Giancola was led off campus in handcuffs yesterday, after he purchased crack cocaine in his school office from an undercover cop.

I present….the educators of children! I’m starting to think they need to pass serious psychological tests before they can even consider walking into a school. I wonder what made them suspicious of this guy.

AAA: Texas gas prices up for third week

The weekly AAA Texas gas price survey found regular-grade gas prices rose an average of 4 cents to $2.15 per gallon. The national pump price average rose 5 cents to $2.30 per gallon.

I paid $2.11 yesterday. I can live with that. 🙂 As opposed to Average price of gas approaches $2.40.

For some, Beverly Hills ballots went too Farsi

For the first time, Beverly Hills had translated its entire absentee and sample ballots into Persian. The ballots for the March 6 municipal election, in which two City Council seats are up for grabs, went out this month, and the response was swift.

Make English the national language, problem solved. We do business in English, print all ballots in English. You don’t understand the language, you don’t get to vote. Life is simple again.

Abbas: PA must recognize Israel and forswear violence

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and the EU agreed Friday that the incoming Palestinian national unity government must recognize Israel’s right to exist and forswear violence.

You go ahead and hold your breath. Turn blue. I’m going to refrain on that futility.

Vilsack Drops Out

Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack is announcing today that he’s dropping out of the Democratic presidential race. His campaign said Mr. Vilsack will make a major announcement at 11 a.m. in Des Moines.

And I care….why?

Steele’s deals

State Sen. Rickey Hendon (D-Chicago) admits he has no background in health care.

But that didn’t stop him from signing a $24,900 contract last year to work as a health care consultant to Cook County government.

Isn’t it important to actually KNOW something before you consult on the subject? No wonder people think the gubmint is screwed up. We have a bunch of yahoos, taking money, for getting involved in things about which they are totally clueless.

Hollywood cash splits Democrats

Republicans looked on with glee yesterday as the Democrats’ leading presidential contenders descended into a vicious slanging match.

Glee? I don’t feel glee about the whole country being divided. It’s no longer about a “nation united”. It’s all about politicians egos. And personally, I’m sick of it!
