If a story is 7 hours old, is it still a “Breaking News” story?

Car, semi collide on 151 Bypass

Authorities responded to a collision involving a semi-tanker and a car at 2:10 p.m. today on the Highway 151 Bypass and County Trunk WH in the town of Taycheedah east of Fond du Lac.

According to a police scanner report, there were injuries but information on severity was not yet available.

Scanner reports said the accident involved a PT Cruiser and a semi-tanker filled with sand.

The Reporter will post more information as it becomes available.

I really hope the folks involved will be ok.

The problem I see is with the reporting. Seven hours ago, the Distorter posted this as breaking news, and at the time it was. There are no updates as promised, and it’s still listed as “breaking”. It just points out the less than reliable media that has to be dealt with in Fond du Lac. sigh….  Or am I just nitpicking.

On Fox News it is….”This is a Fox News Alert: still waiting for the press conference to begin…”
