The Monitor Center: An insider’s guide

After nearly a decade of planning and construction, the $30-million USS Monitor Center is poised to open March 9 – just in time to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the ship’s epic clash with the CSS Virginia in the Battle of Hampton Roads.

Yep, guess the next trip we take to see my brother, we’ll have to make a stop at this place!

  1. AWESOME! I REALLY miss that place….It’s definitely one of my first stops when I take my S/O down there to see my other S/O…the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71)….

  2. When was the last time you were out there? It’s grown so much, I actually got lost. That’s pretty bad considering I lived there for 15 years. 🙂
