‘Israel should leave ‘Arab’ territory’

Israel should withdraw from Arab territory and allow the creation of a Palestinian state before Arabs recognize it, a Saudi official said Monday – the first Saudi statement on the issue since Prime Minister Ehud Olmert publicly invited Arab leaders to discuss their ideas for peace with him.

Problem is, the Arabs consider ALL of Israel their territory.

New Boston hospitals to be Earth friendly

Boston healthcare officials have decided that the next wave of medical buildings in the city will be more Earth friendly.

Sunlight will bathe patient rooms in hospitals and some roofs will have grass or “healing gardens” on them that use recycled water, The Boston Globe reported Monday.

Ya know, I don’t think this is such a bad idea. Most buildings they put up these days are rather cold appearing, at least in my opinion. It might be a good idea to have them blend in with nature a smidge. Besides, all that green stuff creates oxygen. 🙂

Motorist drives with injured man on windshield

A 26-year-old man was behind bars Monday after he allegedly hit a pedestrian with his pickup and continued to drive with the man on his windshield, McKinney police said.
Tennessee Street at University Drive, McKinney

Ricky Nguyen of Garland was charged with intoxication manslaughter on Friday after the accident, which occurred around 8:40 p.m. near Tennessee Street and University Drive, police said.

Can anyone ever be so drunk they wouldn’t notice a person on their windshield? Sick.

Five AU peacekeepers killed in Darfur

Gunmen killed five African Union peacekeepers in Sudan’s troubled Darfur region along the border with Chad, the AU said Monday – the deadliest attack on the force since it deployed three years ago.

The deaths underscored Darfur’s growing violence and are likely to intensify pressure on the Sudanese government to drop its opposition to a bigger and better armed UN peacekeeping force deploying in Darfur.

I often wonder if the world has always been so violent and hateful. Yes, I believe it has, we just hear about it more often, and on a regular basis. I’d like to be an ostrich sometimes.

High Court Rebukes Bush on Car Pollution

The Supreme Court rebuked the Bush administration Monday for its inaction on global warming in a decision that could lead to more fuel-efficient cars as early as next year.

The court, in a 5-4 ruling in its first case on climate change, declared that carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are air pollutants under the Clean Air Act.

So now it’s the President’s fault that car makers aren’t creating more fuel efficient cars AND causing “global warming”? I’m really surprised the Supreme Court is buying into that clap trap too. Really sad.

Iran accuses U.S. planes of violating its airspace

Two U.S. airplanes have violated Iran’s airspace in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, Iran’s state television Sunday quoted a local military commander as saying on its website.

The airplanes on Saturday trespassed Iranian airspace from the northwest of Abadan, Khuzestan province, and disappeared from its southwest, said Colonel Aqili, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in Abadan.

“The planes cast out white smoke trails, attracting the local people’s attention,” he was quoted as saying, but without giving the types of the two U.S. airplanes or their duration of the alleged violation.

Well? Did they? I guess I must have missed this on the news. I kind of doubt it, but hey, ya never know.  The Iranians seem dead set on starting crap all over the world.  Unless we start pulling together as a nation, and stop the ‘destroy Bush at all costs’ nonsense, the costs are going to be higher than anyone could imagine.
