Schoolboys ‘forced to strip for drugs test’

Anti-doping officials have targeted schoolboy rowers in Sydney, sparking anger from headmasters after students had to strip and provide urine samples.

What possible purpose would there be to make these boys to strip? Am I missing something?

Legislative briefs: Senate proposal to honor Thompson

The state Senate on Monday unanimously passed a bill to name a state road after former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson.

The bill would name a segment of U.S. Highway 43 in Lawrenceburg “Fred Thompson Boulevard.”

Cool.

Bush Unwilling to Compromise on Iraq Funding

President Bush today offered no compromise in his standoff with Congress over funding for the Iraq war, saying lawmakers should pass any Iraq legislation they want — but do it “as quickly as possible” so he can move ahead with a promised veto.

There should be NO compromise when it comes to our troops.

Teacher put plastic bag over student’s head

A sixth-grade teacher at a southwest suburban elementary school is under investigation for putting a plastic bag over a student’s head in an apparent joke gone bad.

This was suppose to be a joke? Criminy!

Man arrested for relieving himself in dispatch lobby

A 31-year-old Oakfield man was arrested Saturday for urinating in the lobby of the Fond du Lac County dispatch center.

Billions Diverted in New Jersey Put State Pension Fund at Risk

In 2005, New Jersey put either $551 million, $56 million or nothing into its pension fund for teachers. All three figures appeared in various state documents — though the state now says that the actual amount was zero.

Darn good reason for people to manage their own retirement accounts! The gubmint will screw it up as much as possible.

One is a lawyer, and the other is, well, a lawyer.
