House Speaker Pelosi Says Syria Willing to Resume Peace Talks With Israel

“We were very pleased with the assurances we received from the president that he was ready to resume the peace process. He’s ready to engage in negotiations for peace with Israel,” Pelosi said.

Nice. However, this is NOT Queen Nan’s job! Not only is she undermining President Bush, she’s making the presidency itself irrelevant. Unless the president sends such an envoy to such “talks”, then as far as I’m concerned, IT (she) is irrelevant.

Ahmadinejad Says British Troops Will Be Freed

“I announce that the great people of Iran and the Islamic Republic, even having legal rights to try these military people, in honor of the prophets, will be freed as a gift to the people of the United Kingdom,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech to reporters, clerics and civil servants in a small hall in Tehran.

A gift? They break international law, and call it a gift?

Second national poll confirms Thompson’s rising fortunes

Among voters who identify themselves as very conservative, Thompson with 19 percent ranks a close second to Giuliani at 20 percent.

The only thing about this that surprises me is that so many conservatives would vote for Rudy over Fred.

McGee gains clout with easy recall win

The outspoken McGee, whose actions have infuriated critics and inspired supporters, got 64% of the votes in the eight-person race.

I think the water in Milwaukee is laced with LSD or something. What other explanation could there be?

UK teachers avoid Holocaust history

“Staff may wish to avoid causing offence or appearing insensitive to individuals or groups within their classes. In particular settings, teachers of history are unwilling to challenge highly contentious or charged versions of history in which pupils are steeped at home, in their community or in a place of worship,” concluded the study, carried out by the Historical Association and funded by the Ministry of Education.

In other words, fact and history don’t matter as long as no one is offended. Someone better tell the Queen to get herself a hijab. Talk about a serious slap to British soldiers who died fighting the Nazis.

Bush: Democrats ‘Irresponsible’ on Iraq

President Bush denounced “irresponsible” Democrats on Tuesday for going on spring break without approving money for the Iraq war with no strings. He condemned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Syria, too, accusing her of encouraging a terrorism sponsor.

Irresponsible is an understatement. Arrogant! The American people sure screwed themselves last November.

Leaders protest slow New Orleans recovery

The Rev. Jesse Jackson said he and other black leaders are planning to march in New Orleans to protest the slow pace of rebuilding in the city.

Jackson said the march, planned for April 28 in the 9th Ward, is aimed at protesting the city’s pace of recovery that is keeping about 250,000 residents in “exile” two years after Hurricane Katrina hit the region, The New Orleans Times Picayune reported Wednesday.

How ’bout those so called leaders encouraging the residents to stop waiting for someone else to do the work, and get out there and do it themselves.

  1. Pelosi is also a moron if she actually believes the “I’m for peace” shpeel from Syria. Well, I take that back. She’s not a moron, she knows the “traction” her trip will get with the mass media. It doesn’t have to be real, it just has to look good.

  3. Of course Syria is telling Miss Nancy that they want to talk peace. He is not stupid. He is well aware of the split between the President and the Dems. He is just exploiting it so he can go on doing whatever is he wants to do, free in the knowledge the Dems will never act to stop him because it might interfere with “peace” negotiations.

  4. The only “peace” those types want will include a world without Israel and the U.S. Since the UK has already bowed to the ‘will of Allah’, we’re pretty much alone. The Pelosi types will do their best to make sure we follow the Brits example.
