Iraqis: Iran Barred PM From Its Airspace

Iran refused to allow the Iraqi prime minister to fly across its airspace as he was traveling to Tokyo, members of the delegation traveling with Nouri al-Maliki told The Associated Press early Sunday.

The delegation members said al-Maliki’s plane was diverted on Saturday night to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where al-Maliki stayed in the airport for more than three hours while his government aircraft was refueled and a new flight plan was filed.

And here I thought the Iranians wanted to show good will. Pffft! I do believe they’re jealous of the new found freedoms of the Iraqis. Granted, there is still a ways to go, but hey, it’s a start.

40 protest restrictions at Mayfair Mall

For a second weekend, about 40 protesters chanted slogans such as “Mayfair ain’t fair” as they marched near the shopping center today in an effort to persuade mall management to rescind new restrictions on its policy restricting the mall to those younger than 18.

And oddly enough, it’s a life lesson. Life ain’t fair. Deal with it and grow up!

L.A. pro-immigrant march draws thousands

Organizers said the marchers were calling for a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants; an expedited and less expensive naturalization process; education for all; and a stop to “racist” immigrant raids throughout the United States.

“Today’s rally is really a response to all those who have been criticizing the immigrant rights movement and declared it dead,” said Juan Jose Gutierrez, a coordinator with Latino Movement USA. “Most people are hard-working, taxpaying individuals,” he said. “We need to stop polarizing.”

The headline should have read “L.A. pro law-breakers march…” Illegal! I-L-L-E-G-A-L! Pay attention! The majority of Americans welcome immigrants, we’re just getting sick of those who sneak in, breaking the law by doing so.

Bush Chides Democrats for Using War Bill as ‘Political Statement’

“I recognize that Democrats are trying to show their current opposition to the war in Iraq,” Bush said in his weekly radio address from Crawford, where he is on a break of his own.

“They see the emergency war spending bill as a chance to make that statement,” Bush said. “Yet for our men and women in uniform, this emergency war spending bill is not a political statement, it is a source of critical funding that has a direct impact on their daily lives.”

Haven’t the Dems done enough damage in the 2 months they’ve been in the majority? It really is time to stop the nonsense, come up with a reasonable bill, take out the crap spending, and let’s get a plan for victory. This “we’re failures” crap is really starting to chap my hide! It’s not about Democrats or Republicans…it’s about AMERICANS!

Woman sailor sells her story in lucrative deal

Faye Turney, the woman sailor at the centre of the Iran hostage crisis, is to reveal the trauma of her 13-day ordeal in a solo interview.

Leading Seaman Turney, who was paraded on Iranian television during her captivity, is understood to have agreed a lucrative deal with ITV’s Tonight with Trevor McDonald for a special programme to be broadcast tomorrow evening.

Well well well. I guess her “ordeal” wasn’t as tough as what she’d like us to believe. Kind of fast, isn’t it?

Mideast can find peace if U.S. acts, Ellison says

“If we fold our arms and turn our backs and say people have to meet conditions before we meet with them, things are going to get worse,” he said in a telephone interview in a cab after he landed in Washington. “There is no doubt the United States is the world’s leading power, and they know it.”

Odd, since that’s exactly what the Dems (Dhimmis) want to do….turn their backs.
