Doctors Remove a Gallbladder Through the Vagina

Doctors in New York have removed a woman’s gallbladder with instruments passed through her vagina, a technique they hope will cause less pain and scarring than the usual operation, and allow a quicker recovery. The technique can eliminate the need to cut through abdominal muscles, a major source of pain after surgery.

Oh, I don’t bloomin’ think so!

Reid: U.S. Can’t Win the War in Iraq

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday the war in Iraq is “lost,” triggering an angry backlash by Republicans, who said the top Democrat had turned his back on the troops. The bleak assessment—the most pointed yet from Reid—came as the House voted 215-199 to uphold legislation ordering troops out of Iraq next year.

One word: P-R-I-C-K!

Winkler says she didn’t pull trigger

Mary Winkler said she did not pull the trigger of the shotgun the morning her minister husband, Matthew Winkler, was shot to death.

The trigger pulled itself. Happens all the time.

Far left and ‘far out’ left battle for the youth vote

Arlette, as she is known universally in France, as if she were a rock or movie star, speaks smoothly. Her pitch has barely changed since her first campaign, as an unknown bank clerk in 1981. She predicts a “social explosion” by the “classes populaires” against “big bosses” and the “classe capitaliste”.

Criminy, if France goes any farther left, it’s going to fall over. Perhaps that’s the intent?

Ex-Houstonian linked to al-Qaida pleads guilty

Former Houston resident Daniel Joseph Maldonado pleaded guilty today to participating in an al-Qaida training camp in East Africa, federal prosecutors said.

Maldonado, 28, was the first American charged in connection with an attempt to establish an extremist Islamic state in Somalia.

It always surprises me that there are Americans who evidently have no clue how good they have it in this country.

Woman robbed fund for victims of crimes

Deborah O’Brien worked diligently to make sure criminals paid the restitution they owed their victims — and then stole more than $550,000 of that money.

That is beyond rude! I’m thinking now she should be paying restitution.

Tosa principals get weapons training

For the first time, principals and assistant principals in the Wauwatosa School District have undergone weapons training to prepare them for handling any violent outbreaks that could take place in their schools.

Excellent idea!

Backlash leads to pullback on Cho video

With a backlash developing against the media for airing sickening pictures from Virginia Tech shooter Cho Seung-Hui, Fox News Channel said Thursday it would stop and other networks said they would severely limit their use.

Thank goodness! We haven’t been able to watch the news because of the horrible video. Once was enough. The repetition was out of control.

Greening the U.S. Capitol

House Democratic leaders this afternoon adopted an “aggressive” blueprint for making the U.S. Capitol “carbon neutral,” including a recommendation the government buy carbon credits to offset greenhouse gas emissions estimated to equal 17,000 cars.

With as much hot air that comes out of that building, they could power a large sized city all by themselves. I actually thought there was a little intelligence in D.C. Evidently, I was completely wrong!  Beam me up…no intelligent life here!
