An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings

So, I’m laying there in bed, reading my book, and it hits me!

If I’m paying to feed, clothe, and provide health care to kids, why can’t I claim them on my tax return?

We’re paying millions of dollars each year to support someone else’s child, shouldn’t we be able to claim them as a tax deduction?  Why can’t we get a tax credit?  Just because they don’t all live under our roof?  That’s not right!  A guy pays a substantial amount in child support to his ex, and he can claim the kid on his return.  Why can’t we claim at least a few thousand each on our returns?

Just wondering.  And on that note, I’m going back to bed.  🙂

  1. You’re doing it because you care. End of story, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain…
