U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Who Commanded Baghdad Detention Center Charged With ‘Aiding the Enemy’

A senior U.S. officer has been charged with nine offenses, including aiding the enemy and fraternizing with the daughter of a detainee while he commanded a military police detachment at an American detention facility near Baghdad, the military said Thursday.

Army Lt. Col. William H. Steele was accused of giving “aid to the enemy” by providing an unmonitored cell phone to detainees.

This guy couldn’t be completely stupid, since it’s not all that easy to achieve the rank of Lt. Colonel, so, he must either be a complete fool, or a traitor. Do they still shoot traitors?

Beth Harwell Joins Draft Fred Thompson Team

Former Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Beth Harwell has joined the Draft Fred Thompson 2008 Committee.

Rep. Harwell said, “I have known Sen. Thompson for many years. He is a true statesman in every sense of the word, and I can think of no one better suited to be our next President. I look forward to continuing to encourage him to run.”

Excellent!

Clinton: Democrats Don’t Want Blame for Iraq War Shortages

Senator Clinton acknowledged yesterday that Democrats do not want to risk being “blamed” for withholding funding for troops in Iraq, even as she joined Senator Obama in criticizing Mayor Giuliani for saying Democrats would put America back on the defensive in the war on terrorism.

Well, if they don’t want to be blamed, then perhaps they should actually FUND the troops for much needed equipment and NOT put this nation back on the defensive, as it was during her hubby’s reign.

School reform: A major ’08 pitch
$60 million campaign aims to elevate issue in election

Former Gov. Roy Romer will lead a $60 million, nonpartisan campaign to hurtle education to the top of the presidential-election agenda, an unprecedented push for major school reform on a federal scale.

Philanthropists Bill Gates and Eli Broad announced Wednesday that they will fund “Ed in ’08” – a force of “public awareness and action” with “troops” in up to a dozen states and an interactive website to mobilize the public.

I’m curious. Why is so much money spent on ‘campaigns’ to do something, rather than actually DOING it?

Moroccan terror more potent than police thought

What officials initially suspected to be a botched attack by a hapless jihadi whose bombs detonated accidentally took on more sinister dimensions as police uncovered an alleged plot targeting tourist sites around Casablanca and across Morocco.

The government has downplayed potential links to international terrorist networks, but security analysts place the recent Casablanca violence within a wave of resurgent Islamic extremism in North Africa.

If we can’t call it a ‘war on terror’, as the Dhimmis are suggesting, what should the Moroccans call it?

Border Patrol aircraft crashes on remote ranch

A Border Patrol agent flying above the region in search of illegal immigrants was killed Wednesday when his plane crashed, officials said.

Clint Thrasher, 32, died at the crash site on a ranch about 15 miles north of San Manuel, Border Patrol spokesman Oscar Saldana said. Thrasher, who lived in McAllen, had been with the agency 10 years.

Prayers with the family. R.I.P.

Father who raped daughter, ordered her to throw their children down air shaft, gets 35 years

A father who raped his teenage daughter over several years and ordered her to throw two newborns he had fathered with her down an air shaft was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

I can think of a few more appropriate punishments for this low life, scum sucking, SOB.

  1. Please forgive my language here, and I will understand if you alter it…but are you Fucking kidding me??? Only 35 years for raping his daughter, and then ordering the murder of his Kids/Grandkids. Why are we not executing Child rapists? I say throw this guy in with the general population, instead of the seperate housing sex offenders get. Then make sure all the Alpha Dogs in the yard know exactly what he did. The guy will end up scattered throughtout the prison, and it may take years to find all the pieces

  2. Under normal circumstance, I probably would edit a word or two, but I tend to agree with you (language and all 🙂 ). Those who oppose the death penalty and actually believe animals like that can be rehabilitated are the reason the bag of sh*t is still breathing.

  3. I, too, had to comment on that last story.

My reaction was the same. Thirty-five years? THAT’S ALL???

I read about that guy and I wonder how anyone can doubt that some people are truly evil.

  4. Is there a stronger word than evil? Because, if there is, he personifies!

  5. This part of the article really caught my attention…

Authorities said the man, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, did not meet the girl until after she moved to the United States in 2000 as a 13-year-old. Their sexual relationship began around that time, prosecutor Mike D’Andrea said.

    And then this….

Her father could be deported after completing his sentence, authorities said.

At the risk of sounding like a conservative here(I know your smiling Kate)…The Taxpayers are now forced to provide food, shelter and clothing for this Piece of shit..and then after his 35 year sentence, he will THEN be deported? Again why aren’t we executing child rapists? Instead we will pay for him to stay here, and then pay to send him back

  6. Ya almost made me fall off my chair! LOL

Hopefully, (and I know this is terribly un-Christian of me) he won’t live long enough to cost the taxpayers much.
