Cheney attacks Democrats again

“Their prevailing mindset, combined with a series of ill-considered actions in the House and Senate over the last several months, causes me to wonder whether today’s Democratic leaders fully appreciate the nature of this danger that the country faces in the war on terror — a war that was declared against us by jihadists; a war in which the United States went on offense after (Sept. 11, 2001); a war whose central front, in the opinion and actions of the enemy, is Iraq,” Cheney said.

Gotta love a guy who says exactly what he thinks. πŸ™‚ Unlike many of the other mealy mouthed, wishy washy Republicans we have in office these days.

How Iran’s Revolutionaries Egged On Attacks in Iraq

The commander of the foreign operations wing of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard met with Sunni Kurdish jihadist leaders in April 2005 to encourage them to launch attacks in Iraq.

If this is accurate, then we’ve been at war with Iran for a while now, and wouldn’t it be better to keep it over there, than have them coming over here? HEAR THAT REID? Peck-o-wood!

U.S. Army: IED Attacks Up, But Not Casualties

Iraqi insurgents are launching four times as many attacks with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) than in 2003, but U.S. casualties from the roadside bombs have not risen β€” due in part to devices that jam the radio signals that trigger the weapons, Pentagon officials say.

Our troops are learning and adapting, yet the defeatists would prefer surrender. Pathetic.

Frist won’t be charged with insider trading

Frist said in a statement that he “acted properly” and that his only reason for selling stock in his trust accounts was “to eliminate the appearance of a conflict of interest.”

“I’ve always conducted myself according to the highest ethical standards in both my personal and public life, and my family and I are pleased that this matter has been resolved,” Frist said.

Wouldn’t it be nice if all politicians could honestly claim to be ethical, and actually BE ethical?

Urban to Core, Storm Evacuees Give Farm a Try

Frank Stronach bought them a $2.4 million farm.

Well, more of a farm to be, 791 acres of sugar cane fields just outside this town 130 miles northwest of New Orleans. The property is one of the many items, including 49 mobile homes, two police cars and a flock of chickens, procured on behalf of hurricane evacuees by Mr. Stronach, a colorful and controversial Canadian automobile-parts magnate.

What an amazing opportunity! I honestly pray they can make a go of it.

PETA Asks News Organization to Refer to Animals as ‘He’ and ‘She’

In a letter written to Goldstein, the animal activists ask the AP to “take a progressive step and give animals the respect that they deserve by revising AP style guidelines to reflect the usage of personal pronouns for all animals.”

Unless you know the actual gender of the critter, how can you refer to IT as anything other than IT?

Judges order freeing of Libyan terror suspects

The Government’s anti-terror legislation has suffered another serious set-back after judges ordered the Home Secretary, John Reid, to free two men who had been designated for deportation to Libya.

A special court in London ruled that ministers could not rely on assurances given by Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, the Libyan leader, to guarantee the safety of the two terror suspects, known as DD and AS.

Is it any wonder the bad guys believe Western countries are easy targets?

Hold the reforms β€” Castro is back

Nine months after falling victim to an illness that many U.S. analysts assumed would prove fatal, Fidel Castro appears to have come back from death’s door to resume some leadership responsibilities and rein in Cuba’s would-be reformers.

Some evil just refuses to die.
