Immigration Protests Planned Nationwide

Demonstrators demanding a path to citizenship for an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants hope that nationwide marches will spur Congress to act before the looming presidential primaries take over the political landscape.

The one thing Congress should be doing is letting these people know we are a land of laws….you break ’em, you get punished, not rewarded with a free pass. But they’re too busy trying to destroy the country, so they don’t have time to worry about laws and such.

Warnings On Student Lenders Unheeded

The Bush administration killed a proposal to clamp down on the student loan industry six years ago following allegations that companies sought to shower universities with financial favors to help generate business, according to documents and interviews with government officials.

So, it’s also Bush’s fault that people who are suppose to be responsible get in over their heads with debt? I’d blame the school system for not teaching simple math. If Johnny has an income of zero, daddy is footin’ the bills, how much money can he borrow to pay for his education?

Immigrant measure propels FB vote

A controversial anti-illegal immigrant measure and City Council races with candidates on both sides of the issue drew a heavy voter turnout on the first day of early voting Monday.

Let’s just hope all the voters are LEGAL. You wouldn’t think that enforcing the law would cause such a ruckus. Odd.

Tennessee will lift ban on executions

Tennessee is ready to resume executions under new rules it released Monday, using a three-drug lethal injection method opponents say is still inhumane and unconstitutional.

Gov. Phil Bredesen will lift a 90-day moratorium on executions on Wednesday. Philip Workman, convicted of killing a Memphis police officer, is scheduled to die May 9.

Bullet. Heart. Sharp shooter. Problem solved! And to be honest, why would anyone care if a murderer has a little discomfort before they die?

Many firms closing for Latino march
Government urged to cut back on raids

More than 120 businesses in Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Waukesha will close Tuesday to allow their workers to attend the “A Day Without Latinos” immigration march, which begins at noon on Milwaukee’s near south side.

Maybe they should be padlocked by the feds after this pro law breaking display? No, I am NOT a bigot, or anti immigrant. I am anti ILLEGAL immigrant.

Iraq bill lands on Bush’s desk today

Democratic congressional aides said they anticipate that Bush will reject the Iraq funding bill Wednesday after receiving it from Capitol Hill on Tuesday. That would force the democratically controlled Congress to revisit the dilemma of how to give troops in the field the money they need while satisfying opponents of the war who want U.S. involvement ended.

A bill that tells the bad guys what we are doing, and when, filled with pork, should be vetoed immediately. Now y’all get your asses to work, and pass a bill that gives our troops much needed supplies and stop playing political games with their lives!

Castro Fails to Appear at Parade

Hundreds of thousands of cheering workers marched through Cuba’s Revolution Plaza on Tuesday but Fidel Castro was nowhere to be seen.

Isn’t he dead yet?

Leader of al-Qaida in Iraq is dead, Iraq official says

Iraqi officials have received reports that the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq was killed by Sunni tribesmen, but the chief government spokesman said today the information has not been confirmed.

One down, hopefully, many more to go!
