Cheney, Iraqi Leader, Concede Problems

Vice President Dick Cheney and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki acknowledged problems in the pace of reducing violence in Iraq on Wednesday, but both pledged their governments would continue working together toward a solution.

With the Dhimmis in control, I sure hope we can keep Cheney’s promise.

Workman executed
Flurry of legal maneuvers fails to derail death sentence

The state executed condemned cop killer Philip Workman in a West Nashville prison early today in the third death sentence carried out in Tennessee in 47 years.

Only 3 in 47 years? I’m fairly sure there are others in TN who deserve the same.

House favors gas tax break

Gas prices are climbing, but the Texas House wants to make your summer road trip a little cheaper.

House members gave a preliminary blessing Tuesday to a three-month break from the 20-cent-per-gallon state gas tax, aiming to ease the pain during the summer driving season.

And a Democrat came up with this idea? I do believe hell has frozen over!

Raids Across Germany on G-8 Fears

”The militant extreme left groups and their members are suspected of having founded a terrorist group, or of being members of such an organization, with the specific goal of staging fire bombings and other violent attacks in order to disrupt or prevent the upcoming G-8 summit in Heiligendamm,” federal prosecutors said in a statement.

What do fire bombings gain these people? Other than to make them look like complete and utter jackasses?

Cops: Dead boy was 7 years old, only 30 pounds

Police have arrested a man and a woman for investigation of homicide involving a 7-year-old boy who appeared to suffer from malnutrition.

Do they allow torture in Colorado?

Truck bomb kills 19 in Kurdish city

A suicide truck bomb blamed on al-Qaeda linked insurgents exploded Wednesday outside the Interior Ministry in the Kurdish city of Irbil, killing at least 19 people and wounding 80, security and hospital officials said.

It seems al-Qaeda just can’t stand when people manage to live in reasonable peace. They MUST be stamped out, for the sake of the entire world.

Sharpton denies disputing Romney’s faith

The Rev. Al Sharpton, who recently urged that radio host Don Imus be fired for making a racially insensitive remark, said in a debate that “those of us who believe in God” will defeat Republican Mitt Romney for the White House. But Sharpton denied he was questioning the Mormon’s own belief in God.

I find it difficult to equate any Democrat who believes it’s ok to murder babies with a belief in G-d. So I find it equally hard to take Sharpton’s words seriously. I don’t understand a lot about Mormonism, but I’m pretty sure Romney’s faith is genuine.

Civil servant convicted for Blair-Bush memo leak

A British civil servant was convicted Wednesday of leaking a classified memo about a meeting between Prime Minister Tony Blair and US President George W. Bush.

Wouldn’t it be nice if our Justice Dept. would start prosecuting the numerous “leakers” in the U.S.? What a novel concept…bringing charges against law breakers. Who’da thunk it!

National Guard Has Manpower, Assets Needed for Kansas Relief Effort

The Kansas National Guard has 88 percent of its forces available and is working quickly and aggressively to save lives and reduce suffering, Guard Bureau officials reported. More than 6,800 additional Kansas Guard troops can be tapped, if needed, as well as more than 80,000 Guardsmen from surrounding states, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman told reporters today.

So, it seems the governor of Kansas is full of manure. If nothing else, aren’t there businesses that have the heavy equipment, IF there is need, that can be utilized?

LAPD shake-up continues; melee’s toll grows

Los Angeles Police Chief William J. Bratton continued to shuffle his command staff Tuesday as investigators disclosed that 24 civilians — more than twice the number originally reported — had been struck by police batons or projectiles during the MacArthur Park melee.

I wonder if the potential dollars signs has anything to do with the increased number of ‘injured’?
