Border Patrol: Plan is ‘white flag’

The leadership of all 11,000 nonsupervisory U.S. Border Patrol agents today criticized an immigration compromise by senators and the Bush administration as “piecemeal” legislation that invites future terrorist attacks and fails to secure the nation’s borders.

I’ve written to my senators and representative, have you? Personally, I’m getting sick of all the ‘white flags’ our elected officials are flying these days. ENOUGH!

Israeli Poll: U.S. Should Strike Iran

Fully 71 percent of Israelis think the U.S. should launch a military strike on Iran if diplomacy fails to stop Tehran’s nuclear program, a new poll reveals.

I think we should start with some well placed sniper bullets. If that doesn’t solve the “problem”, then perhaps consider a serious strike.

Donald Trump to NBC: “You can’t fire me, I quit”

Donald Trump, whose low-rated reality show “The Apprentice” was left off the new prime-time schedule unveiled this week by NBC, says the network can’t fire him — he quits.

The real estate mogul issued a statement on Friday saying he has informed the U.S. television network he is “moving on from ‘The Apprentice’ to a major new TV venture,” though he declined to elaborate.

And I should care….why?

Ex-Senate majority leader law license suspended

Hottinger, a Democrat who left the Legislature after the 2006 session, previously admitted that the infraction took place while he was still a legislator. He has said he effectively borrowed $8,820 over six months from the settlement. He said he used the money to help pay his mortgage and always planned to replenish the account.

As far as a politician stealing money, that’s not much. Obviously, steeling is wrong, but the amount is not as much as I would have thought. Gotta love that word “borrowed” though.

Bush Rejects War Bill Concession

In a closed-door meeting with Mr. Bush’s top aides on Capitol Hill, Democrats said they’d strip billions of dollars in domestic spending out of a war spending that Mr. Bush opposed if the president would accept a timetable to pull combat troops out of Iraq. As part of the deal, Democrats said they would allow the president to waive compliance with a deadline for troop withdrawals.

But no agreement was struck.

How about stripping out all that spending AND the bloomin’ time table?!

Midwest’s cookie crumbling
AirTran says more than half of shares have been tendered

AirTran Holdings Inc. appears to have turned a corner in its hostile takeover bid for Midwest Airlines, announcing Thursday that nearly 57% of Midwest Air Group Inc.’s shares have been tendered to AirTran.

Welp, I guess I’ll be canceling my Midwest Miles card soon. One airline I will NOT fly, if there is an alternative is AirTran, the WORST service in the air! They have cheap fares for a reason….they have cheap service!

Man charged with faking war record

Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, formerly of Phoenix, garnered attention on blogs and in some alternative media after he began claiming in 2005 to have been awarded a Purple Heart for his service, which he said included slaughtering innocents in a Fallujah mosque. His story was contradicted by his discharge form, showing that he was kicked out of the Army after six weeks at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2003 because of his “entry level performance and conduct.”

He couldn’t cut it in the military so he lies about it? I hope they throw the SOB under the jail!
