Jihadists moving into Lebanon from Syria

Heavily armed foreign jihadists have been entering Lebanon from Syria from around the time Western authorities noticed a drop in the infiltration of foreign fighters from Syria to Iraq, Lebanese officials say.

Looks like Queen Nan’s buds are ‘invading’ their neighbors. No doubt she’ll be silent on this.

Bill would ban inmates from selling murderabilia

In late 2004, after 22 years of battling old Texas laws that could have led to Watts’ release, the Semander family celebrated upon learning he would spend his life in prison. They could now begin the healing process.

But, in 2006, Harriet Semander Googled Watts’ name to find out if he was part of a new trend — murderabilia or the industry of selling online the items of convicted murderers. She discovered a letter written by Watts up for auction on an internet site.

“It opens up a wound,” she said. “Just when I think I have erased Coral Watts’ face from my mind and I can think of my daughter without seeing his face too, here we go again.”

That is just sick. Why do people want to collect stuff connected to murder? I guess I just can’t understand people, nor, do I want to understand this type.

Dutch kidney donor TV show in poor taste: EU

A European Commission spokesman on Tuesday criticised a planned television reality show in which a terminally ill woman decides to whom to donate a kidney as being in “rather bad taste.”

“It seems in rather bad taste to do a reality TV show on something like this, which is after all a very serious issue,” said Philip Tod, spokesman for EU Health Commissioner Marko Kyprianou.

Bad taste? Oh, I think that goes beyond bad taste. Criminy!

Taxpayers on the hook for $59 trillion

The loss reflects a continued deterioration in the finances of Social Security and government retirement programs for civil servants and military personnel. The loss — equal to $11,434 per household — is more than Americans paid in income taxes in 2006.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the largest employer in the country would encourage workers to save their own money from their paychecks, instead of relying on the taxpayer to take care of them in their old age? Naw…never happen. The public trough is too tempting.

Spitzer Open to a Deal on Traffic Tax

Talks between the city and state have gone beyond the question of who would be pulling the purse strings of the transit plan. Spitzer administration sources say the governor is also looking to exchange his support for a larger say over major development projects in the city that are under way or waiting to be built.

Heavens, don’t give Diamond Jim, or any other Dhimmi, any ideas on how to suck more money out of our pockets!

Immigration bill benefits illegal aliens, not U.S., Coburn says

U.S. Senator Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma) says the so-called “comprehensive immigration reform” bill in the Senate should be based on the needs of the United States, not on the needs of people who want to come into the country. He says he will not vote for the Senate immigration bill because it “undermines the rule of law.”

Yup!

Taxman has eye on propane grill use
Residential heating would be exempt under state’s proposal

Chris Dickerson of Inglewood doesn’t like the idea of shelling out extra cash to cook out on a propane-fueled grill, a summertime activity he enjoys with his family.

“We use it all the time,” Dickerson said. “It’s ridiculous. They already tax you on almost everything. Now they’re taxing you on having fun.”

They have GOT to be kidding! Don’t people around here already pay tax when they buy the stuff over the counter?  Only a Dhimmi administration (Bredesen) could come up with something so absurd.
