The government warned consumers today to avoid using toothpaste made in China because it may contain a poisonous chemical used in antifreeze.
The Food and Drug Administration said that as a precaution, consumers should throw away any toothpaste with labeling that states it was made in China. The FDA is concerned that these products may contain diethylene glycol.
Are there any stores in the U.S. that sells toothpaste made in China? I mean, it seems everything ELSE is made there these days, but I’ve never noticed where toothpaste is made.
A man convicted of murdering a photographer 3 1/2 years after his release from prison for a rape he did not commit was sentenced Friday to life in prison with no chance for parole.

Several of the solicitors fired at the May 24 meeting reported declining contributions and a donor backlash against the immigration proposals now being pushed by Mr. Bush and Senate Republicans. “Every donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue,” said a fired phone bank employee who said the severance pay the RNC agreed to pay him was contingent on his not criticizing the national committee.

Covered by an intense artillery barrage, the Lebanese Army drove Fatah al-Islam militants back from the periphery of the Nahr al-Bared Palestinian refugee camp Friday, with the army taking over militants’ positions along the camp’s perimeter. Residents of areas surrounding Nahr al-Bared awoke Friday to one of the heaviest battles between the army and the militants since clashes broke out two weeks ago, as the army pounded away with tank fire and artillery beginning at about 7 a.m., breaking the usual routine of heavy nighttime exchanges of fire.

Like everything in Republican presidential politics in Tennessee, Fred Thompson’s three-month flirtation with a White House bid will have an impact on Saturday night’s annual Statesman’s Dinner fundraiser.
Well, I’ve been doing my part to spread the word about Fred. 🙂 I’ve almost got the yard guy convinced.
There are thieves and then there are thieves who steal puppies from children.
A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man who shoved a 10-year-old Vacaville boy to the ground, snatched his favorite puppy and jumped into a getaway car as the distraught boy screamed for his pet.
This guy is a serious whack job! There must be something in the water out there.
A Dutch TV contest which purported to show a dying woman choose a patient to receive her kidneys was a hoax.
The “donor” in the show was in fact an actress – though the three people vying for an organ were real patients in need of a kidney transplant.
Sick. Just plane sick.
