I just got back from a meeting that lasted forever. I started glazing over after the second hour! I’m starving, I’m tired, and I have a headache. All in all, an interesting experience. In some ways, I’m glad it’s over. In others, there is still so much more to be learned, I’m sorry it is over. Truthfully, I’m really surprised the government ever gets anything accomplished.
I know I voted on stuff, but honestly, I’m not sure what at this point. Luckily, I did write some of it down.
One high point, I got to meet Representative Scott Suder. I was quite impressed with him….smart cookie. I asked him if he had signed Owen’s pledge, and he said he didn’t think so, but had signed a pledge not to raise taxes. At this point, I guess I have to take him at his word.
A lot of people think I’m nuts, but I really do like Senator Lena Taylor. Obviously, I don’t agree with her on this issue (affirmative action), but I believe people with her drive and intelligence are to be admired. And, she’s a hoot. 🙂 It was a pleasure meeting her.
So, on that note, I’m going to get my jammies on, and try to decompress with my nose in a book.
