Stupid People Shouldn’t Vote

Filed under: ACLU, Political — olbroad @ 8:46

Most people are aware that in order for their vote to count, their absentee ballot needs to arrive in a certain amount of time. If you’re going to vote absentee, make sure you have plenty of time to get it sent to you, and return it…simple, right? Not for everyone evidently.

Judge Rejects 1-Day Absentee Ballot Extension

An Anne Arundel County Circuit judge has denied a lawsuit filed by several civic groups asking for a one day extension for the deadline to turn in absentee ballots.

Good for the judge!

Officials from the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Association for the Advancment of Colored People, filed the suit around 5 p.m. Monday and have not said whether they will appeal the decision.

Big surprise! Tell me, why did they wait till the evening before the election to file the suit?

The decision means absentee ballots sent in by mail, must be postmarked by Monday. Although some voters will miss that deadline, election rules allow voters to bring their completed ballots to their polling precincts on election day.

And this is a problem? It sure sounds like it’s quite simple to get your vote counted. Don’t polling places open around 7 or 8 in the morning, and close around 8? How hard can this be? If you have to be at work early in the morning, drop your ballot off after you get off. If you don’t go into work until later, drop it off before you going into work. If a person can’t figure this out, then they are too stupid to vote!

  1. Why? I presume there are a few post offices in Maryland like the Milwaukee airport one that are open after the polls close. There’s nothing like knowing exactly how many “votes” you have to dump into the system to steal the election for the ‘Rats.

  2. Revising and extending the previous – the polls do close in Maryland at 8 pm EST, and the last pickup in Baltimore is also 8 pm EST. Of course, there are post offices further west than the Appalachians that are open well past 8 pm EST, and I doubt there would have been any prohibition on those Maryland ballots containing a California postmark.

  3. It should only take ’em a few hours to get to a post office farther west, doncha think? 😛

  4. Of course it’s all about race! How does the ACLU and NAACP expect to be taken seriously, representing people’s stupidity?

  6. I have to say, that I could not agree with you completely, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong.
