Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts?

Believe it or not, Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). This in fact is the greatest deception in the history of science. We are wasting time, energy and trillions of dollars while creating unnecessary fear and consternation over an issue with no scientific justification. For example, Environment Canada brags about spending $3.7 billion in the last five years dealing with climate change almost all on propaganda trying to defend an indefensible scientific position while at the same time closing weather stations and failing to meet legislated pollution targets.

Now, see? This guy is a scientist, but because his views aren’t politically correct, no one is going to listen.

Maybe for the same reason we believed, 30 years ago, that global cooling was the biggest threat: a matter of faith. “It is a cold fact: the Global Cooling presents humankind with the most important social, political, and adaptive challenge we have had to deal with for ten thousand years. Your stake in the decisions we make concerning it is of ultimate importance; the survival of ourselves, our children, our species,” wrote Lowell Ponte in 1976.

Well, I prefer the warming to the cooling, but we have nothing to do with either. The planet has been going through many cycles since the beginning. How ’bout those vineyards in England way back when? That was during the Middle Ages by the way.

No doubt passive acceptance yields less stress, fewer personal attacks and makes career progress easier. What I have experienced in my personal life during the last years makes me understand why most people choose not to speak out; job security and fear of reprisals. Even in University, where free speech and challenge to prevailing wisdoms are supposedly encouraged, academics remain silent.

Sadly, the more intelligent and informed are usually the quietest who seldom stand up against the “squeaky wheels”.

I think it may be because most people don’t understand the scientific method which Thomas Kuhn so skilfully and briefly set out in his book “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.” A scientist makes certain assumptions and then produces a theory which is only as valid as the assumptions. The theory of Global Warming assumes that CO2 is an atmospheric greenhouse gas and as it increases temperatures rise. It was then theorized that since humans were producing more CO2 than before, the temperature would inevitably rise. The theory was accepted before testing had started, and effectively became a law.

Make a decision, the create the “facts” to support them. Pathetic! “Tell a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.”

Ewwwww!

University rocked by body parts scandal

ALLEGATIONS of sexual interference with bodies, inappropriate handling and mislabelled body parts have rocked the University of NSW school of anatomy, which has fought for four months to keep a lid on the claims.

Lose the “lid”, get out the bear traps!

“Such mistreatment included the fondling of breasts and vaginas and using the head of a torso for inappropriate and degrading purposes.”

I do NOT want to know how that head was used!

Fox Cities weather today: Wind chills reach hazardous levels

The National Weather Service reported Appleton’s temperature at 17 degrees below zero at 6:30 a.m. today. The wind chill factor fell to 36 degrees below zero.

Pffft! Our outside thermometer said it was 19 below here in Waupun at 8:30 am.

A high temperature of 6 degrees is expected Tuesday and temperatures should reach the teens by the end of the week.

Woohoo! A heat wave!

Today, the weather will remain dangerously cold.

Good reason to stay inside. I was going to finish up the laundry, but my dryer isn’t taking too well to the cold. It’s out on the back porch/mud room. I’ll be heading to Tennessee this weekend where the temps are predicted to be in the 40’s. Should I take the “whale suit” (aka bathing)?

Soldier disgusted by lack of support

As promised by the U.S. Senate, they have passed a non-binding resolution condemning the president of the United States for sending 20,000 more troops to Iraq.

I came back from Afghanistan in late October and likely face the possibility of being deployed to Iraq if I choose to re-enlist this summer.

But I can’t help wonder, like many other volunteers in the Armed Forces, where is the resolution for victory in Iraq and the war on terrorism? Why should we continue to re-enlist for the American people and this government when the majority of people constantly condemn our goals and ignore our accomplishments over there?

To trash-talk the president’s plan before it even begins is a total disservice to every single service member in Iraq. It is discouraging for me to know that Americans from sea to shining sea are advocating for our defeat in Iraq.

The American people need to take responsibility and consider the consequences of what may happen if we did pull out of Iraq. To support the troops also means that you support the war plan, and if you don’t, then why should this soldier put his life on the line any longer?

Philadelphia May Get Rubber Sidewalks

A Philadelphia official wants the city council to look at whether the city’s sidewalks should be made of rubber.

City councilman Jim Kenney recently toured Chicago to see environmentally-friendly city projects there. He came back with a number of ideas on which he plans to hold hearings.

One is using rubber for sidewalks.

No, don’t expect to see people bouncing down the street. Kenney says the rubber is very solid – probably harder than a running track.

He says rubber sidewalks are made from recycled tires. They don’t crack, and they last longer than concrete.

Kenney says rubber sidewalks could also reduce the number of slip-and-fall accidents and the resulting lawsuits.

Um, well, ok, but what happens when the results of “global warming” kicks in? Ever smelled burning rubber?

Just in case you have forgotten, we still have an invasion going on right here at home:

One thing that stuck out in my mind is the comment that “whites are not reproducing”. We’ve got to stop the flood of illegals….NOW! Legal immigration is one thing, this vast tidal wave of illegal invaders is something else altogether. The fact that California “lawmakers” are supporting these folks is beyond disturbing.
